Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Shall be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a government security clearance
  •  basic requirements  :
  • Education: Only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education may be credited.

     

    Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

     

    Licensure:

  • possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted professional license/registration to practice Dentistry. Shall possess and maintain a current and valid DEA license.
  •  

    Malpractice Insurance: Shall possess and maintain malpractice insurance.

     

    Privileges: Shall apply for and have approved dental privileges at the WEHC.

     

    Certificates: Shall possess and maintain basic life support (BLS) certificate.

     

    Experience: Shall have practiced clinically 12 months within the past 3 years.

     

    Continuing Education: possess documentation of continuing dental education.

     

    Immunizations: Contractor shall provide evidence of the following immunizations:

     

    • MMR Immunization (measles, mumps, and rubella),

      • Individuals born on or after 1957 can be considered immune and shall provide documentation of physician-diagnosed measles, laboratory evidence of measles immunity, or adequate immunization with two doses of live measles vaccine on or after their first birthday.

      • Individuals born prior to 1957 need not be considered susceptible; measles vaccine or proof of immunity is therefore not required.

      • Individuals who are allergic to a component of vaccine and/or have a history of a severe reaction to vaccine will not be required to receive that vaccine.

    • Hep B - Hepatitis B

    • Tdap-Tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis or, current Td booster.

    • Polio

    • Annual TB (tuberculosis) test results as negative.

    • Flu Influenza (seasonal)

  •  Scheduling Details:
     

    1. sessions (hours) per week. Work hours will be between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

     

  • Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:30 pm


Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
 

    1. ental practice, management of patients, and dental prescriptions will be accomplished in accordance with applicable AFMS clinical practice guidelines and JCAHO/HSI standards and instructions set forth in facility where privileges are awarded.

 

    1. Examines, diagnoses and treats disease, abnormalities, injuries and dysfunctional disorders of the oral cavity and its associated structures.

 

    1. Examines patients and interprets radiographs and diagnostic tests to determine type and extent of dental diseases and disabilities or dysfunctions.

 

    1. Evaluates findings and prescribes type, extent, and order of treatment. Refers nondental problems to appropriate medical specialty. Restores health and function of carious, fractured, otherwise defective teeth.

 

    1. Performs routine preventive, periodontal, oral surgery, endodontic, and prosthodontic treatment. Provides consultation services.

 

    1. Instructs dental officers and technical assistant in professional of dental service.

 

    1. Performs comprehensive dental functions.

 

    1. Performs complex dental treatment procedures in the absence of specialist.

 

    1. May serve as preceptor for general dentistry residency programs.
